October Break

We had a wonderful October Break (1 week off of school) this year. We decided to head to one of our favorite places, Provo, UT. Our girls love going to visit Provo and it is great because we have such a fabulous place to stay thanks to Ryan's parents. We arrived in Utah on Friday night and met up with my sister Rachael, her boyfriend Steve, my brother Andrew and his wife Michelle and of course their cute son Drew. We ate dinner and had a great time together. On Saturday we went to BYU's homecoming parade and the girls loved it. They enjoyed the dancing, the marching bands, and the floats but especially loved the candy that was thrown at them. After the parade Peyton, Hailey, and I went to a dollhouse festival that they were having at the library and we had a great time looking at the houses and getting their face painted. Later that day my sister Christin and her family arrived in Provo (they came from AZ too) and we went to the BYU tailgate before the football game. Of course the kids had to get their picture taken at the cougar.
They also enjoyed their own private concert from part of the BYU marching band.
Ryan was able to go to the football game with Andy and Andrew and they had a great time.
No trip to BYU would be complete without going to the Wilk to bowl. Alexis really got into it this time and would take my turn for me. She loved it.

We enjoyed a few lunches at the Cougareat and Hailey loved that they have a Taco Bell there.

We walked up to campus several times and did a lot of fun things there like go to an acoustics show, decorate cookies on the lawn, visit the earth science museum, read books in the bookstore, went to the creamery, and many more things. We love BYU.

On Wednesday we headed to Salt Lake and visited some of our good friends we had in California who recently moved to Utah. The kids had a great time playing with their friends and it was way too short but we will definitely visit with them again in the summer. Then we headed to the Church Art History Museum and met my Christin and her family and Andrew and his family. We had fun walking around Temple Square and stopped to get a picture of the kids in the Visitor Center. We then headed to Andrew and Michelle's place for dinner and fun.
On Thursday night we did the one thing that I really wanted to do while we were in Provo. We went to a BYU Women's Volleyball game. I couldn't wait to go.

The girls enjoyed the game but what they loved the most was playing with Cosmo.

We had a fantastic week and we can't wait to visit again.

First Tooth

We are visiting Provo, UT this week for October break and we are having a great time. This morning as I was sleeping in bed Hailey came in and turned on the light. Before I could tell her to turn it off and go back to bed she said, "I lost my tooth!" She was so excited. I was so excited because there was no blood and I didn't have to pull it out. I can't believe Hailey is old enough to be losing teeth. Time sure does fly. I will post a picture of Hailey when we get back from vacation.

Peyton's School Journal

Peyton brought her journal home from school today. She needed me to help her type a story she had written in it. When she was going to bed she asked me if I would read her other journal entries while she was asleep and I said sure. It was great reading what she is really thinking about. In one of her entries she wrote about 3 things that make her feel special and one of them was that I had decided to change my ear piercing policy. Instead of having to wait until she is 12 to get them pierced I told her she could get them pierced as soon as she showed me she was mature enough to have them. I never knew how much this meant to her until I read that entry. Another entry she wrote about was a person she looked up to that she would want to spend the afternoon with and she chose her cousin Summer. She wrote all the things that they would do together and why she chose Summer. It was so sweet. Peyton is such a wonderful daughter and I love her so much. She is so sweet, loving, and friendly. I am so grateful to have her in my life.

Wedding Weekend

This past weekend Ryan and I had the opportunity to go to California without our kids for Ryan's brother's wedding. It was held in Laguna Beach and it was a lot of fun. On Friday night Ryan had the wedding rehearsal at the hotel and I just hung out with my sis-in-law Amber drinking virgin strawberry coladas. After the rehearsal was over they had a dinner at a steakhouse nearby. It was held outside and we had a wonderful private area with lots of food and good company. Here I am with my almost sis-in-law (at the time) Erin. She is so much fun to be around and is so nice.
Here are all my Ferrell sister-in-laws (except AnnaMarie) . We had a great time together.
On Saturday we were able to go to breakfast at one of our favorite places in Irvine and then we got to visit some of our favorite people the Byers. It was so much fun to catch up with them. Ryan had to get to the hotel early to take pictures so I just hung out with Amber again. The wedding was on the beach at the beautiful Montage hotel and Ryan and I couldn't resist this photo opportunity.
The reception was absolutely gorgeous. They had an awesome band and a photo booth to take pictures in.
The reception lasted until 12:15 but we only lasted until 10:30. We were so tired. It was fun to have time on our own but we were glad to get back to our girls. Thanks mom, dad, and Christin for taking care of the girls while we were gone.
Congratulations Erin and Scott

Teddy Bear Parade

Last Friday Hailey's school had a teddy bear parade for the kindergarten classes. They each had to decorate something they could push or pull their teddy bear in. Hailey chose to decorate her baby stroller with a bunch of ribbon and then we curled it all. It took a while to do but she loved it. She had a great time and it was fun to watch her walk around the school so proud of her float!

Blessings

I have so many blessings in my life but the 4 most important ones are Ryan and the girls. Our life has had so many ups and downs but I am so grateful that Heavenly Father has given me these 4 people to share it with. They bring so much joy to my life. I love you Ryan, Peyton, Hailey, and Alexis.
Ryan giving the girls a ride around the block on Grandpa Ferrell's new 3 wheeler he had shipped from China. (Don't worry, they always wear a helmet now so it is safe.)
Here are the girls in the matching dresses all the Ferrell granddaughters wore in the family vacation picture.

This one is just to show Peyton and Hailey that Alexis really does look up to them.
