The Silent Treatment

Ryan and Peyton went to Los Angeles today to go to The American Girl Store and to spend the night at a hotel with Uncle Scott and Aurora. Hailey was so upset that she was not invited that she spent about 20 minutes this morning screaming and crying that she wanted to go. Every half hour she would ask why she wasn't allowed to go and I would give her the same answer each time. She would cry a little each time she asked. I took her to the movies and she got to get a treat after so I thought that might pacify her. When we got home from the movie I put her down for a nap and hoped that she would forget about Ryan and Peyton. When she got up from her nap she was still upset and would not talk to me for about 45 minutes. I would ask her if she wanted to play something or go somewhere with me and she would not answer. She would just bury her face in the pillow and ignore me. I don't know how a 3 year old learned how to give the silent treatment but it really broke my heart. I sure hope she forgives Ryan someday.

Peyton's Littlest Pet Shop

Peyton's Aunt Natalie threw her the birthday party of her dreams today and here are a few highlights from it. Peyton chose a Littlest Pet Shop theme for her party and boy was it fun.

The kitchen was filled with little snack for the pets (girls) to eat. Here is Peyton and her cousin Aurora posing in front of the food.

The dining room was turned into a pet craft room and play room. There were little cardboard dog houses for the girls to decorate and play with. There were also many Littlest Pet Shop toys to play with in between activities.

The girls ate their snacks outside on beach towels.

They decorated animal masks and posed for a picture in them.

They played pin the ribbon on the horse which was a picture of Peyton's favorite Littlest Pet Shop animal.

Peyton wanted a green birthday cake with her two favorite animals on it. She had candles that said Happy Birthday and by the time we got all of the candles lit most of them had already burned out since they were so thin. By the time she was about to blow out the candles there was only one candle still lit.

The girls ate their cake out of doggy bowls and had to take their first bite without a fork or their hands. They thought that was really funny.

Peyton got lots of great gifts and if you can't tell most of the people got her Littlest Pet Shop stuff.
Peyton had such a fun time with her friends and she said this was the best birthday party ever. Thank you so much Aunt Natalie for giving her a party she will never forget. You are the best.

Happy Birthday Peyton!

Our beautiful daughter, Peyton, turned 7 years old today. I can't believe how quickly time goes by. It just seems like yesterday that she was a baby. Peyton decided she wanted to have her favorite breakfast this morning so I made her oven pancakes. She had forgotten that she told me she wanted that for her birthday breakfast so she was so excited when she saw what was waiting on the table when she woke up.
She was able to open up her presents from us in the morning since Ryan had to leave to go to his grandfather's funeral today. She hurried so fast to get ready for school so she could open them. She was so excited to see that she got the 3 things she wanted most, a Littlest Pet Shop Diary, a Sleeping Beauty Polly Pocket, and a Cinderella Polly Pocket.
After school I took the girls to Dave and Busters so Peyton could play all of the games she loves to play. She got a lot of tickets and was able to trade them in for a stuffed bunny.
Peyton was able to celebrate her birthday with her Great-Grandpa Gaisford who is visiting my cousin Claire in Yorba Linda. We were able to go over to her house for ice cream sundaes and Peyton was able to play with her cousins. It was such a fun treat to have him there.
Peyton had a great birthday and she can't wait until tomorrow because her Aunt Natalie is throwing her a Littlest Pet Shop themed birthday party. We will definitely post pictures of that tomorrow. Happy Birthday Peyton! We sure love you.

Goodbye Grandma and Grandpa Ferrell and Happy Early Birthday Peyton!

Ryan's parents came to visit us for the afternoon to celebrate Peyton's birthday and to say goodbye to us for the next 11 months. They are leaving on Monday to go to China to teach English at a University near Beijing. Peyton was so excited to go out to dinner at one of her favorite restaurants, Rain Forest Cafe. She invited her cousin Aurora and Uncle Scott to come along and celebrate with her. She loves all of the crazy animals and noises that go on while you are eating. She even got to have a balloon made for her by a balloon artist.

After dinner Grandma and Grandpa got the girls a little treat to top off their meal. We had a great time and we will miss them so much. Thanks for the fun visit. We can't wait to see you in 11 months.

Happy Anniversary!

10 years ago today Ryan and I were married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. I can't believe it has already been 10 years. The time has gone by so quickly. This morning I told Peyton that mommy and daddy got married 10 years ago today and she looked at our wedding picture that is hanging on our wall and said, "Mommy, you look exactly the same but daddy doesn't." I'm not sure Ryan appreciated that comment but I sure did. We were able to celebrate by going out to dinner to one of our favorite places, The Melting Pot. We had a great time eating (way too much) and talking. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband that has put up with me for the past 10 years (my family will agree with that). He has taught me so much and has been so loving and patient. Ryan, thanks for being a great husband. I love you.

Second Grade Family Picnic

Peyton's school had a family picnic last night for everyone to get to know the teachers and parents. The girls had a great time playing at the park and running around with their friends. They didn't even want to stop and eat. We had a fun time just being together.

A Day at the water park

Peyton had the day off from school yesterday so we decided to go to Knott's Soak City and enjoy a day at the water park.
Peyton and Hailey were so excited to go and couldn't contain their energy. They decided to play like they were Santa's sleigh to pass the time before we left.

Peyton loved all of the water slides but Hailey preferred to just play in the water.

We were happy that Ryan was able to spend a few hours with us there. He doesn't usually like being out in the sun for so long but he did manage to have fun on the slides and in the wave pool.

Grandma and Grandpa Cardon Visit

My parents were able to come visit us for a week and we had so much fun with them. We went on lots of walks, bike rides, played at the park, went swimming a few times, went to the beach, and ate lots of great food. They were able to pick Peyton up from school a few times and she loved that. Hailey enjoyed climbing on Grandpa and making Jamba Juices with Grandma. We are so glad that they were able to come spend so much time with us and we hope that they come again soon.
Peyton and Hailey made a bed for Grandpa to sleep on with them.

Grandma watched a movie with the girls.
