October Break #1 (Pinetop, AZ)

October 2012

We took off for our October break a few days early so we could spend some time at my sister in law Amber's cabin in Pinetop, AZ.  We weren't prepared for how cold it was going to be up there and I had to make a trip to the Walmart in Showlow to get the girls winter jackets, hats, and gloves.  We aren't use to cold weather.  The girls had a great time playing outside even though it was so cold.

Lexi loved this homemade see saw that was at Brandt's uncle's cabin.

Addison enjoyed playing on the floor with her toys.

Koda and Addison got some great cousin bonding time.  They even held hands.

Addison loved going to the nearby park and playing with Peyton.  She loved the swing.

Peyton is such a great help and went down the slide with Addison.

The kids enjoyed feeding the ducks at the lake.  Everyone managed to stay out of the water which was a good thing.

We always look forward to going to the cabin with Amber's family and we can't wait to go again.

Cousin Love

September 2012

One of the best things about living in Arizona is the fact we live so close to so many family members.  My girls are so lucky to be able to hang out with their cousins a lot and are able to establish bonds that will last forever ( I was just as lucky to live near most of my cousins and I am lucky to still be so close to so many of them).

Julia and Alexis love playing together (especially playing dress up).

Addison and Deborah haven't started interacting with each other but they love playing side by side.

We love having Joshua and Kate over to our house.  Kate has such energy and excitement to her all of the time and Joshua absolutely loves babies.

Dean loves to play at our house even though we don't have many boy toys.

We love getting together with the Ferrell cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  The kids always come up with something fun to do.  At this family get together they performed a play for us.

Alyssa even included Addison in the play.

These are the times that they will always remember and laugh about when they get older.

Right now there are so many babies in the Ferrell family so Peyton gets to hold 2 at a time.  Hopefully Koda and Addison will be great friends as they grow up together.

80's Day

September 2012

Peyton and Hailey's elementary school had a spirit day and the theme was the 80's.  The girls decided it would be fun to dress up how I use to when I was their age.  They looked super cute and it brought back lots of memories of my childhood (and side ponytails).

Arizona Science Museum

September 2012

My sister Becky has a family pass to the Arizona Science Museum and invited us to come along and have some fun.  They had a great lego exhibit and the girls enjoyed driving this lego car.

They also had real brains from different animals and the girls were brave enough to touch them (I was not).  We had a great time and the girls can't wait to go back.

Peyton's 11th Birthday

August 2012

For Peyton's 11th birthday we had both sides of the family over on Sunday.  It wasn't actually her birthday but it was the best day to get everyone together.  Peyton happens to have 2 cousins with birthdays right next to hers so we celebrated their birthdays also.  Summer turned 15 and Makenna turned 10.

Lots of cousins came to celebrate.

On Peyton's actual birthday I made her crepes like she wanted and we got her flowers and a huge balloon.  She loved it.

Her very favorite gift was this brand new bike with a basket to carry her viola in.  

First Day of School

August 2012

The girls started school and it is crazy that Peyton is in 6th grade.  Elementary school went so fast.  Hailey started 2nd grade and was nervous to start at a new school.

We continued our tradition of having a candlelight dinner on the first day of school.  Cousin Jaxon and Aunt Ashley joined us for the meal.

A week later Alexis started preschool.  She was so excited.

Addison was excited to have some time alone with mommy.

Alexis loves her teacher Miss Cheri (she also taught Hailey in preschool and was my Young Women's President when I was a Laurel).
