Our Little Princess

My wonderful sister in law Ashley has been asking to take pictures of Alexis since the minute she was born and today I finally made it over to her house for a photo shoot. Alexis slept the whole entire hour she took pictures and never cried more than a second when we changed her outfits. Here are some of the pictures she took. I think they turned out great. Thanks Ashley.

Sisters

As I watched Peyton hold Alexis tonight it reminded me how lucky I am to have 3 wonderful sisters. Growing up I didn't always feel so lucky but most of the time I did. My 2 older sisters were always so great to include me in a lot of stuff they were doing especially as they got older. I always wanted to tag along with them because I thought they were so cool. They even let me borrow their clothes sometimes. They have always been there to give me great advice and to listen to me complain or vent. I still go to them for advice now that we are older. My younger sister has always been someone I looked up to because she always seemed so perfect. She was smart, beautiful (even in her tom boy stages), and was an awesome basketball player. Everything she did she gave more than 100% and she never failed at anything. At times I wished I had her dedication and work ethic. I probably wasn't always the easiest person to share a room with (that is an understatement) but she never complained about it.
Alexis is so lucky to have 2 older sisters to take care of her and give her advice when she needs it. I hope that my 3 girls are able to have such wonderful relationships with each other throughout their life like I have with my sisters.

Introducing Alexis Ryan Ferrell

On Wednesday I went into the hospital to be induced because my doctor wanted to make sure I received all of my antibiotics before I had the baby (because I am Group B Strep positive). With Hailey I delivered so fast that I wasn't able to receive the antibiotics so Hailey had to have an IV for 2 days with the antibiotics. My doctor didn't want this to happen again. So Wednesday morning I got the girls ready for school and then went off to the hospital. For the first 6 hours I laid in bed getting an IV with the meds and then around 1:30 PM my doctor came and broke my water and started me on pitocine. Alexis was born at 3:49 PM so my labor was very quick once it got started. My doctor made it there for the last 2 pushes because I went from a 7 to a 10 in 10 minutes. Alexis is very healthy and looks a lot like her sisters did (especially Hailey). Her nose is squished on one side just like Hailey's was and luckily that will go away after a few days. She does have dark hair but not quite as much as Hailey and Peyton had. Her two older sisters just absolutely adore her and fight over her whenever they can. I am so grateful that she is healthy and that everything worked out for her labor.
Here we are right before I went to the hospital. The last time as a family of four.
The girls got to meet Alexis just a couple hours after she was born.

Here are the 3 cutest sisters that I know.

Peyton's Talent Show

Peyton decided she wanted to participate in her school's talent show this year so she picked a song to sing and practiced really hard every day. She has been a little obsessed with the movie "The Sound of Music" so she chose to sing that song. I was really sad that I could not attend her talent show since my doctor chose to induce me during that time but I am glad that Ryan, Grandma and Grandpa Cardon, Aunt Ashley, Aunt Amber, and April could all attend and cheer her on. Ryan video taped it for me and I watched it as soon as he got back to the hospital. She did a great job and didn't even flinch when her microphone wasn't working and the teacher had to hand her a new one. What a professional. I look forward to her continuing her love of music and hopefully being able to attend many more talent shows.

I will post the video of her performance when Ryan figures out how to put it on the computer.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful mothers out there. I especially want to say Happy Mother's Day to my 2 wonderful mothers. First I would like to tell you about my wonderful mother-in-law Paula. I have been very blessed to know her for the past 14 years and have loved every minute of it. She is such a talented person and has so much knowledge. She is a wonderful grandmother to my children and spoils all of us whenever she gets the chance. She is a terrific cook and can get any stain out of your clothes no matter what it is. We have really missed her over the past year and we can't wait to have her back in a little over a month (but who's counting!) Happy Mother's Day Mom. I love you.
There are so many wonderful things that I can say about my mom Elizabeth. She has so much patience and I don't think I ever remember her yelling at me or my siblings. That is a trait that I didn't get from her but I am trying to work on it. She was what I would call a "Super Mom" during my whole life. She did day care in her home most of my life so that she could stay at home and be there for us. She carted us around to thousands of sports activities and never missed any of our games. She never missed our choir or band concerts and always made sure that we had every opportunity to excel in whatever we wanted to do. She made us homemade breakfast every morning which I never really appreciated until I was older and realized how much work that takes. She always listened to us no matter what we had to say and she always keeps whatever we don't want other people to know to herself. I can always count on my mom to be there for me whenever I need her and I feel so blessed. Thanks mom for being so great. I love you.

Lunch With The Girls

Today my 3 wonderful sister-in-laws took me out to lunch and had a little baby shower for me. Since this is my third daughter I didn't want a big party so they took me to one of my favorite places to eat and showered me with gifts and great food. Thanks Tricia, Ashley, and Amber. You guys are the best. (We really missed you Mom Ferrell. Crackers just wasn't the same without you. We can't wait until you get home so we can all go together.)

A Fun Night Out

On Saturday night Ryan and I were able to attend a wedding for one of my best friends from high school. Mindy looked absolutely beautiful in her wedding dress and the whole event was a lot of fun. There was great food and dancing. What made it even better was the fact that my sister-in-law Ashley (who was also one of my best friends in high school) and her husband Dave came with us. It was nice to get out of the house without the kids and have a fun time. Thanks Mindy for inviting us.

Build-a-Bear

On Saturday the girls and I decided to have a mommy daughter date and we went to build-a-bear. The girls thought it would be fun to invite Grandma Cardon so she came along to see what it was all about (she had never been there before). It was Hailey's first time getting to make her own bear so she was super excited.
Here they are after they had each picked out their special bear.
Here is Hailey pushing the pedal to fill her bear with stuffing.

Next she cleaned the bear and combed its hair.

Here they are with the finished product. They had a great time and loved spending time with Grandma. Thanks Aunt Tricia for the gift certificates that you gave them for their birthday. They had a great time using them.

China Show and Tell

Peyton's 2nd grade class was learning about China this past week and she was so excited. So on Friday her teacher asked her to dress up in her special dress I got her in China and she was able to bring in quite a few things her grandparent's and I bought her in China. She had a great time telling the class about everything and she looked beautiful in her dress. She is also wearing her special Jade butterfly necklace her grandma got for her.
